American Go Association Go Database
What is AGAGD?
The American Go Association Go Database (AGAGD) is the American Go Assocation (AGA) tournament archive system, which aims to provide American go players with
an easily browsable database of past go tournaments.
The data source
Data is taken from rating reports submitted to the AGA by tournament directors. Tournament
crosstables are generated automatically from the rating reports, although the lack of some
crucial data (e.g. bands and tiebreak information) in those files means that the system has to
guess about the ordering of players.
Technology
AGAGD is based on Apache + MySQL + PHP, running on the AGA web server (hosted at CT Incorporated). This core software is the same as system
that runs the European Go Database.
Acknowledgements.
We are extremely grateful to the European Go Federation
and the Association for Go in Italy (AGI) for providing
both the software and technical assistance in setting this system up. We would particularly
like to thank and Paolo Scattini, who was the original author of much of the codebase and Aldo
Podavini, the current maintainer.
Disclaimer.
This web system is provided as a service for the members of the AGA. While the AGA makes every
effort to ensure that the data in this system is correct, we cannot guarantee its accuracy.
Tournament data is as submitted by the tournament directors, but mistakes do happen.
